(Note: The address on the stamp should read "Acts 20:28" not 29, but the message is still valid)
This is a poem that commemorates the day the Lord God saved me from my sins and His justified wrath, 8/26/09. I have nothing but joy and gratitude for the second chance He has given me, and my life has never been the same! I want to tell you that Jesus Christ came to save sinners, and I am the worst sinner I know. If He was able to save me, He can save ANYONE! Salvation is an act done by God alone; I, nor anyone else can do absolutely anything to earn it. Salvation happens when you trust in The Lord Jesus Christ alone to forgive your sins and save you from His wrath. You must realize that your good deeds will not save you. You must believe that Jesus, who was God manifest in the flesh, was crucified for our sins, and was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures. If you think your good works are going to save you and make God impressed with you, you are sorely mistaken. If good works can save a person, then why did Jesus die on the cross?
"My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing unto thee; and my soul, which thou hast redeemed." - Psalm 71:23
"And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:" - Hebrews 9:27
"(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)" - 2 Corinthians 6:2
1. You must realize that you are a sinner who has broken God's perfect law, and are deserving of hell, and that no number of your own "good deeds" will ever save you. A person goes to one of two places after their death: heaven, or hell. Your sin is far worse than the world wants you to believe. I'm writing this so that you may see the truth about it and hopefully act accordingly. Please read the following scriptures from the King James Bible, the word of God.
"This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief." - 1 Timothy 1:15
"As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:" - Romans 3:10
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" - Romans 3:23
"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." - Romans 6:23
"And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt." - Daniel 12:2
"How much more abominable and filthy is man, which drinketh iniquity like water?" - Job 15:16
"But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away." - Isaiah 64:6
"Behold, thou hast made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Selah." - Psalm 39:5
"For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not." - Ecclesiastes 7:20
2. You must believe on and trust the Lord Jesus Christ alone and His finished work on the cross as payment for your sins to be saved. There is no other being in the universe who can forgive sins. Because of His mercy, He will spare you from hell. The reason Jesus died on the cross and rose again on the third day was to make salvation possible for us. He lived the perfect, sinless life on this earth that we couldn't live, and this qualified Him to be the perfect sacrifice for us. However, this means that He is the ONLY WAY to be saved (John 14:6), because there's no one else who is capable of taking away your sins. He imputes (ascribes) His righteousness to you when you trust in Jesus to save you from sin and hell! Amazing! Please read the following scriptures to see from the word of God itself how you can become saved.
1 Corinthians 15:1-4 --->
1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
Acts 16:30-31 --->
30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
"Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law." - Romans 3:28
"But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness." - Romans 4:5
Ephesians 1:12-14 --->
12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
"Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;" - Titus 3:5
"...In whom (Jesus) we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;" - Ephesians 1:7
Ephesians 2:8-9 --->
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
"For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." - 2 Corinthians 5:21
"Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:" - Romans 5:1
Romans 5:8-11 --->
8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
11 And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.
"And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:" - Philippians 3:9
"For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death." - 2 Corinthians 7:10
"Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ." - Acts 20:21
3. If you do make the decision to trust in Jesus Christ alone to be saved, that's wonderful! However, you still retain the free will to obey or disobey God. Of course, you should want to obey God after He saved you and do good works; your salvation isn't a license to sin. These verses exhort you to clean up your life, and should definitely be heeded. After you die/or the rapture, you will undergo the judgment seat of Christ (Romans 14:10, 1 Corinthians 3:8-15, 2 Corinthians 5:10-11) where your works as a Christian will be tried by fire.
"For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." - Ephesians 2:10
"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." - 2 Corinthians 5:17
"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." - Romans 12:2
Romans 6:1-7 --->
1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.
4*. I'm placing this one here for anyone reading this after the Rapture (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17) and has been left here.
(THE FOLLOWING IS ONLY APPLICABLE AFTER THE RAPTURE!)
Soon, the Antichrist (Satan manifest in the flesh) will enact what will be known as the "mark of the beast," and they'll make it so that you can't buy or sell if you don't have it. He'll also set himself up as "God" and command that everyone worship him (Revelation 13:15-17).
DO NOT take the mark! It is an automatic ticket to hell (Revelation 14:9-11)! Yes, those times will be VERY hard and brutal, but the Lord Jesus Christ will return to the earth PUBLICLY (Revelation 1:7 and 19:11-13) seven years after the Antichrist confirms a covenant with many (Daniel 9:27), and will put an end to the Antichrist's reign. The time between this covenant and the Lord's return is seven years. Aside from having faith in Jesus, avoid the mark and worship of the Antichrist like the plague, and you will be saved. In fact, you will REIGN with Christ if you endure (Revelation 20:4,6)!
I know this is not an easy thing to talk about and makes everyone uncomfortable, but the fact is that many people think about it and struggle with those sorts of depressing and morbid thoughts. Check out the following sermon about this topic if this is something you are dealing with, and I hope it helps you realize that your life is worth living, and that your life has an impact on those around you.
The Bee Sting
A vacationing family is driving along in their car, windows rolled down, enjoying the warm summer breeze of the sunny day. All of a sudden a big black bee darts in the window and starts buzzing around inside the car. A little girl, highly allergic to bee stings, cringes in the back seat.
If she is stung, she could die within an hour (or sooner).
"Oh, Daddy," she squeals in terror, "it's a bee! It's going to sting me!"
The father pulls the car over to a stop, and reaches back to try to catch the bee. Buzzing towards him, the bee bumps against the front windshield where the father traps it in his fist. Holding it in his closed hand, the father waits for the inevitable sting. The bee stings the father's hand and in pain, the father lets go of the bee.
The bee is loose in the car again. The little girl again panics, "Daddy, it's going to sting me!"
The father gently says, "No honey, he's not going to sting you now. Look at my hand."
The bee's stinger is in my hand!
1 Cor. 15:55 -- "Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?"
Jesus says to us, "Look at my hands."
He has Satan's sting,
the sting of death,
the sting of sin,
the sting of deceit,
the sting of feeling worthless.
Jesus has all of those stingers in His hands.
When you see that nail-scarred hand, realize that, on your behalf, Jesus took all the pain that Satan could throw at Him. He reduced Satan to a big black bee that has lost its stinger -- all Satan can do is buzz around.
That's the victory that Jesus won for you!

Hi! I joined DeviantArt at first because I started taking part in a Pokémon Drawing challenge for December 2013. I'm not much of an artist, but I still like drawing, and I'm trying to get better at it. I also compose music and write stories. My mind is usually buzzing with different ideas, and I try to express some of them through these different mediums. As you may see, I am also a Christian. The flurry of stamps on my page might make me look unapproachable, but I'm open to talking about my beliefs, whether it be innocent questions, or questions of skepticism. All I ask though is that you be civil if you have an issue with anything you see. If you are simply trolling, or are resorting to ad hominem attacks, then I won't be open to continuing the conversation. I do my best to be gentle, and I will give as thorough an answer I can, especially if I'm particularly knowledgeable on a certain doctrinal matter. However, you can feel free to talk to me about anything you want, even if it's just a quick "hello" or casual small talk. Thank you for reading, and have a lovely day

The Tithing CurseThe following article is taken from the Grace Ambassadors website, and I've posted it here verbatim, save for a small typo that I corrected. This is something that has been on my mind for a bit because I know a lot of churches teach tithing as a requirement for today, and yet this shouldn't be so. Tithing was never given as a commandment for the body of Christ, and those who teach tithing are unknowingly (or perhaps knowingly for some...) placing you under a curse! Note: I am not saying that we shouldn't give; our standard of giving is found in 2 Corinthians 9:6-7 --->
"But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver."
However, giving, according to the law of tithing is completely different. In fact, here is a link that describes 39 reasons why we shouldn't t
Rightly Dividing Psalm 8:6"Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:" - Psalm 8:6
The reason I want to go over this verse in detail today is because of some of the false teaching that has come from it today, and it stems largely from a failure to rightly divide the word of truth. Basically, the teaching says that Christians today are supposed to have dominion over the earth, and are supposed to rule the world system. This doesn't work for a few reasons --->
- The command to have dominion over the earth CANNOT be fulfilled today. Let's look at Genesis 1:26-28 --->
"And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
And God blessed
To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God."Romans 1:16
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God."
"And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:"
